Steam: Buy 30 Games for the Price of One! + Giveaway
Giveaway!
I will be doing a little giveaway of my own for my Twitter followers and friends on Google+, so if you don’t already follow me on one or both of these networks, change that and you could win some pretty decent prizes. More info on the giveaway can be found at the bottom of this article. No strings attached, I just want to give something back to you, my readers. :)
STEAM SAAAAAALE!! Can you believe it? It’s not like this happens every single day.
Really though, the current holiday sale on Steam is crazy! I just got, let me check… yeah, 27 games – twenty-seven – for less than I will be picking Star Wars: The Old Republic for on the 25th. To be fair, I’m getting the collector’s edition of that game, but even the regular version cost more than those 25 games cost me and there were games like Mirror’s Edge, the complete pack of Sam and Max, and the first two Max Payne games. Oh, and that’s not sad by the way, going out to get video games on Christmas Day, because for some reason in Sweden we celebrate Christmas on the 24th.
Besides, I’ll probably go out with some friends or even my family and do other stuff as well, like peeing in the snow or eating in a fine restaurant, respectively.
Alongside the sale is a Christmas event, “The Great Gift Pile,” during which you can complete challenges across multiple games, new challenges replacing the old ones at the end of every day, such as “Deck the Halls” in Orcs Must Die!: “Complete the Hallway using only the Arrow Wall trap, weapons, and spells” to get gifts or, if you’re unlucky, lumps of coal.
Actually, you might prefer getting lumps of coal because on January 2, 2012, each lump you’ve got in your Steam inventory will be an entry ticket to the “Epic Holiday Giveaway” which will give away prizes to 1,151 lucky people. 1000 people will win the complete Valve pack which contains every single game Valve has ever released; 100 will win the top five items on their wishlist; 50 will win the top ten items on their wishlist; and the one grand prize winner will get every single game on Steam. Yes, you heard me right! Every. Single. Game. On. Steam.
If you don’t think you’ll stand a chance no matter how many lumps of coal you get – you can gift them if you’re feeling generous, or dupe your less than genius friends into giving you their “worthless” pieces of coal (don’t do that, you jerk) – you can craft seven of them together to make yourself a gift.
You can read more about the sale here or go directly to your digital Christmas shopping here!
The Giveaway
To enter, all you have to do is to reply something along the lines of “I want to win!” (though feel free to go with something a bit more creative) to that tweet or G+ post. You can also leave a comment below this article, but you’ll have to be clear about what giveaway it is you want to win. I’m not a mind reader.
I will do more than one of these giveaways throughout the remainder of the year and they won’t all be the same (for example the first giveaway was a coupon to get any Valve game 50% cheaper while the next one might be a non-Valve game completely free), but you will need an active Steam account for all of them. There is no restrictions based on where you are, so long as Steam works in that area.

Is Limbo or Bastion on Sale coz I want those games
Yes! Limbo can be bought as part of the Super Indie Bundle, not to be confused with the Awesome Indie Bundle which is a separate package deal also on Steam, for 18.99€ (approx. $25) which also comes with great indie games like Dungeons of Dredmor and Cave Story+, or you could buy only Limbo for 4.99€ (approx. $6-7).
You can get Bastion for 9.37€ (approx. $12) or as part of the Warner Bros. Complete Pack, though that’s ridiculously expensive even with the 80% discount going for 74.99€ which is almost $100 dollars! It does cost 374.98€ which is nearly $500 so if you’re ever going to get it, get it now… :P
On the 24th ‘ey? I’ll have to keep that in mind.
Piicked up Fable: TLC (yay it’s on Steam now!) along with Max Payne 1 & 2 with the $10 I had in my account, might buy some more games if the sale goes into the new year, but I already have a backlog of games (not just Steam) that could easily last a year alone so I’m *really* not short on games to play.
But still, when games are $3, who gives a shit. :D
Yeah, Fable – The Lost Chapters was actually released on Steam no earlier than yesterday. I’m a huge fan of the Fable series, though admittedly less so with Fable III (I didn’t hate it, but it wasn’t as good as either Fable or Fable II), so I got it right away.
I just hope it will run on this computer, because I’ve tried before and it would never work. :/
